Also true. Forgot about that. See, bad bad bad. The reboot can only go up from here

I really don't want a reboot, I'd rather build from Retaliation. If The Rock can't make it, don't use Roadblock. Simple. The beauty of this brand it there are a TON of great characters to chose from! Bring back Flint, Jay, Jinx, and/or Snake-Eyes; and add Clutch, Rock-n-Roll, Stalker, Flash, Gung-Ho, Torpedo, Snowjob, and/or Airborne.

As for Revolution, I'd like IDW to handle GI Joe like Marvel did the X-Men in the 80's. There're in the same world, but they are off doing their own thing, and rarely interact with the other Heroes from that world. It's OK every now and then, but not something that is constantly there.

KordR, I'm 2/3 with you. (A) I could not more passionately agree that Joe has 100+ great characters with great file cards that are under utilized or not used at all. And that's just from the original line. Plus many more from the DTC / Club era.

I also agree that Joe should be primarily on their own, (I hate the all encompassing Hasbro World idea), and it totally kills IDW-verse unsolved Joe stuff, like whether or not SE ever comes home. Tomax without Xamot, Where is Krake, what has he been up to, And much more stuff like Chameleon.

But I have suffered through two bad joe movies. Let this new writers room come up with something new, don't make them handi-capped by the previous bad writing staff's vision

If they can unkill Duke and make the Baroness, you know, at least Eastern European, I'd be for it.

I think the movie series is too far gone to be saved, they can finish off their trilogy but I'd rather see a reboot with some decent writing and stick a little truer to the characters. I don't think it needs to be an exact interpretation but the 2 movies they put out so far are not even close to the feel of the books. I also heard they originally had spoken lines for snake eyes in the first one but luckily Larry Hama was there to shoot down that idea quick. That's what i heard at least, never tried to verify it.

I think Retaliation definitely had some aspects that were consistent with the feel of the cartoons, at least, but Rise of Cobra was the worst. The Hollywood trend of characters in movies all having to have personal relationships has gotten out of hand. (See James Bond: Spectre).

Taking an international conflict and turning it into a character piece about lost love was a wretched idea.

From a comics perspective, I kinda felt like the seasons 3 and 4 were not connected to the established GI Joe IDW world. Season 3 tried to keep it somewhat connected, but it felt like a combination of ARAH and the new modern IDW verse. He went back to classic ARAH uniforms, but loosely kept characters and story lines form IDW. Season 4 was a complete mess, and should be disavowed all together.

The appealing thing about the IDW Joe-verse was that it was modern, and fresh. They lost their way when the started to drift toward ARAH. Hopefully, after Revolution they'll get back to investigating the Cobras on the moon, or what happened to Beach Head and Copperback. As Abernathy-was-Right said, there are a bunch of dangling threads to follow without ROM, MASK, Optimus, and Micronauts. Unfortunately, we won't really know what direction they're going to take until about issue 6 or 7 of the new series (about June 2017).

If they take the Marvel route with the films, we may get only passing mention of the Has-verse, until their "Avengers" movie.

After slogging through the last two issues (3&4) I think I am going to pass on Revolutionaries. These issues so crammed that the story is staring to loose its cohesion.

I'll be sticking with Larry Hama's joe series and the complete collections!

Reboot reboot and a reboot please!! I would love a take on GI Joe like Delta Force(the first one) & Aliens! but with a few specialist teams on a special mission! Each team has a different objective and we go back and fourth for the action. Get Larry Hama to help flesh out and get a story outline! Those clowns in the writers room ain't gonna to Joe justice!
