Nope. It came out after the first cartoon series was canceled, and when the movie came out, it wasn't used in it (although it could've been, seeing as how the plot involved spores in space), and by the time the second series came out, it was 1989-90, so the Defiant wasn't in stores anymore by then. I may be mistaken about the movie bit, but I'm 99% sure the movie didn't have the Defiant in it.

I wonder what the original series could've been like had they continued throughout the run of GI Joe, even into 1994. When DIC came out with their series, it was so full of cheese I found my DVD sets in the dairy section! Had the original series writers and animators, etc, continued, what kind of stories would they have had, and would they have had Tiger Force, Night Force, BF 2000? Iron Grenadiers? Plus all the characters they came out with in 87-88. Coulda woulda shoulda....

I think... 65 is the first appearance, 109 is in the death of Doc, Crankcase , Heavy Metal, Thunder, Quick Kick, Cool Breeze and Crazy Legs in Benzenheen. The last one I can't remember much about. I only half paid attention to the storyline after REAL Joes were killed, not just Cool Breeze, Kwinn and General Flagg who as a kid, I had no real connection to without figures...
