Tiger Force has remained a very popular subgroup within the G.I. Joe brand since its initial release in the late 1980's. Most recently, we had a very successful 2015 GIJoeCon convention set that sold-out featuring a Tiger Force theme!

What makes the Tiger Force design really cool is that it allows for unique action figure variations of classic characters, which includes a mixture of primary uniform colors with tiger stripes. The popularity of the series in the U.S. carried over to the European market and additional characters were added to the team. Tiger Force Outback was an exclusive figure released to the United Kingdom in 1990. Tiger Force Sneak Peek was released the following year in 1991 (see reference samples above).

These international action figures are prized possessions for many vintage 3 3/4-inch collectors and samples have become very expensive to find carded in mint condition.

The G.I. Joe Survivalist --- Code Name: Outback was first released in 1987 and became a fan favorite action figure. Originally, he wore a green headband and white T-shirt with the word SURVIVAL in bold letters on it. His character artwork was featured on many licensed products in the U.S. market. Also, his character appeared in several key story lines during the original Marvel comics G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series written by Larry Hama.

This Tiger Force version of Outback is very unique visually. He's wearing a blue headband with his hair color changing from orange to white. His T-shirt is the other obvious change from white to orange with a fierce tiger face and black stripes on the back of it.

Our modern era version of Tiger Force: Outback takes cues from his 25th Anniversary release, updating the design with a new head sculpt but retaining the original flashlight leg attachment and weapons that are key to his character.

The G.I. Joe Advanced Recon Specialist --- Code Name: Sneak Peek was first released in 1987 with an arsenal of accessories that included a battlefield periscope. Although he was not as prominent in the original Marvel comics G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series written by Larry Hama, he was believed to be KIA until readers later found out he was sent deep undercover in Darklonia.

The Tiger Force version of Sneak Peek is a significant redeco from his classic red and gray uniform. He's wearing a dark orange vest with black tiger stripes and blue pants.

Our version of Tiger Force: Sneak Peek is the first modern era release of this character. His original periscope accessory was not available, but with that being his key piece of equipment --- we had a new version sculpted with viewfinder and two handles for better posing and display.

Again in 2015, the official G.I. Joe Collectors' Club is presenting an homage to both characters that adds to the existing Tiger Force collection in the modern era action figure design. Now these highly requested fan favorite characters are part of the 4th Figure Subscription Service.

Don't miss adding them to your collection!

I really love the Tiger Force deco. I think of it as an Air Force unit because so many planes have that style deco in real life. The story of their function was never written well on the packages. It seems like a lot of people that post here do not care for them. The Shipwreck and Airtight figures seem like they sold the poorest of any FSS and lots of people complained about them. I thought they looked just like the Euro versions and I really liked them a lot. I suppose a lot of people havent seen the photos of the originals of those particular figures. Its interesting that Tiger Force con sets sold out when people here complained about those two figures so much. I think its great the club are doing more. I look forward to Tiger Force Jinx which I hope is the mystery 13th figure. I dont see why she would need a new head though.. So I dont think its her.. Does the fact that they used the Tripwire head on Skystriker mean that we arent getting a Tiger Force Tripwire? I always thought that the Target exclusive two pack with the Tripwire that had silver paint on the chest and black tiger stripes was the Tiger Force version even though he wasnt labelled as TF. Wheres Roadblock..? Is there a problem using the old Roadblock figure mold because it doesnt look like the Rock..? He is also missing from the new 3-packs from Hasbro that repeat the Mass device sets that had him.
Why does Sneak Peek have a periscope anyways? Does Stephen Kings son like them or something? I doubt that its standard field issue for real soldiers.. Unless theyre 12 years old and its made of milk cartons.. ;)

Roadblock was not part of that DVD pack. Hasbro is re-releasing the final DVD pack which included Alpine, CC, a Cobra trooper, and Jetpack Duke and was very hard to find. Roadblock was in the second DVD pack which included Destro and Lady Jaye.

In regards to Sneak Peek, I believe the characters likeness is based on Stephen King's son Owen, one of which wrote SP's filecard. Also Sneak Peek has a giant periscope because his name is Sneak Peek. Check out the Cobra Island conflict in issues 72-76 of the ARAH series and also issue 88 I believe to see it in use.

I think the traditional Roadblock is persona non grata until because of the Rock.

I have that DVD pack. The only things people cared about were Alpine and the Mass device emitter part. If Roadblock cant be done now because of the Rock that is very interesting. The pack he came in isnt what Im talking about, its that we wont be getting a TF Roadblock, thats what Im getting at. They probably dont want to pay the image licensing fees like with Strike Scarlett that looked like Rachel Nichols.

Sneek Peek has a periscope because his name is Sneak Peek? Thats completely silly. Does Crazy Legs have crazy legs..? The persicope is dumb and useless, that was my point..

Amazing card art... are you going to be able to use that for your FSS offerings? I hope so. I also hope the card art won't be surprise and you'll let us see a few of them now and again...

Read the comics suggested, the periscope makes perfect sense for a recon specialist.

Hasbro showed a TF Roadblock prototype at one point so maybe the club can't make one in case Hasbro decides to release theirs somewhere down the line.

I for one can't wait for the club to release the remaining members of the UK Tiger Force: Blizzard, Tunnel Rat, Psyche-Out, Hit&Run

I love seeing this. I'm not really into tiger force (and I'd love to see some more modern takes/re-imaginings on figures instead of so many recreations of older ones) but this does make me look forward to these guys arriving a bit more!

Well they gave us tiger force alpine......back in the valor vs venom and spy troops era (sorry don't remember which) but if you remember he was paired off with cross hairs, so maybe eventually we'll also get an updated crosshairs figure.

These Tiger Force figures weren't UK exclusives as the above article might convey. By my knowledge they were sold in the whole of Europe under a GI Joe - Real International Heroes banner. I vividly remember buying these as a kid in various toy stores in Belgium. I had the Outback, Psyche-Out and Tunnel Rat figures.
