You need to at least triple the amount you produce with these guys, they are a troop builders dream!

This CRIMSON GUARD IMMORTAL with that SILVER REFLECT VEST is something I've been waiting for...and creams the old one by a landslide!!

Wow! So much like the original and yet so much better. You should include a crimson cape. Cuz he's got that awesome Vader look.

The original was one of the best figures of the early '90s in my opinion. This one tweaks the design a bit too much for my tastes and makes the character seem flashier and more flamboyant instead of being a tough, lean, mean trooper.

Maybe it's a Photoshop problem, but the red on the helmet is a flat red while the red on the body is very shiny. The red on the helmet works much better. The shiny red makes it look too much like a toy. And Crimson Guards in the Joe line have a very established flat red color that this one should stick to for consistency's sake.

I know the head sculpt isn't changing but I would have preferred the short, stubby look the original had on both the card art and the figure. This one flares out on the sides like Darth Vader's helmet in a much more flamboyant fashion. The original helmet's style looked more imposing and functional for battle.

I think the biggest problem is the vest. The original figure had a simple, tight, symmetrical, muscular pattern to his chest armor. He looked like a lean, mean warrior with a simple, functional, yet strong, durable outfit. This vest is too bulky and cluttered to be regal-looking and looks too flimsy and loose to suggest the strength that the name "immortal" implies. I think either the torso from Arctic Destro or Retaliation Duke would've been a better representation of the original character. And the shoulder pads could've been carried over from either of those figures to also better reflect the original.

It's not a bad figure, but other than the similar face it feels more like a new Crimson Officer figure than a faithful update of the Crimson Guard Immortal.

Looks better than the original. Excellent update, faithful but modern. Now I'm sold, but have to decide on one or two sets.

Don't judge the "shinyness" of the colors based on these images. That's a side effect of the photoshopping itself. Has no one ever actually made images like these? The shiny effect happens when you change certain colors into either darker or light colors. If you try to change those Snake Eyes legs into red, that's what you get. If you try to change that light blue on the Cobra Trooper to red, that's what you get. It's the same with any of the weapons that people seem to think are going to be chromed.

Here's where the club can't please everyone. That is the exact vest used on the concept case figure and if they had done what you suggest, people would complain that it wasn't close enough to the concept case figure like they did with Hit and Run. Someone is upset either way.
I think the figure looks pretty cool, but I will admit I don't have any particular attachment to the Crimson Guard or this particular figure like I do with some others.

Yup. I agree. I just enjoy the club's modern interpretation of the figures. If I wanted exact copies then I'd seek out the originals or try and make my own. I can't wait for the card art.:D

I think he looks fantastic. The club has done a great job with this one. Whereas I don't mind the silver/grey weapons, I have to wonder why y'all didn't go with black for the launchers like the original.
I really would like to get more than one of these guys because they look so nice. Keep up the great work.

Can anyone tell me the idea behind the crimson guard immortal? What makes him immortal? As a kid I never understood what was different about him versus an older Crimson Guard.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortals_(Persian_Empire)
"Herodotus describes the 'Immortals' as being heavy infantry, led by Hydarnes, that were kept constantly at a strength of exactly 10,000 men. He claimed that the unit's name stemmed from the custom that every killed, seriously wounded, or sick member was immediately replaced with a new one, maintaining the numbers and cohesion of the unit.[3]"

That's who I assume they're named after and probably have similarities to.

The SILVER WEAPONS are great. I always hated the YELLOW missiles on the original. This fits in much better with the overall Crimson Guard red & silver aesthetic. And the flag is just icing on the cake. Well done!

Question for the Club: Is there any way you could make this figure available as a troop builder for those of us who have subscribed to the FSS? Bagged 3-packs maybe? I'm sure if this became an option you'd have no problem selling them. It seems a shame that in order to get multiples of CGI we'd have to order more sets or pay an inflated price through online dealers.

Great job btw, personally I think this is the best FSS yet.

Or in 3-pack Army Builders of Previous FSS series with a slightly different variation- Say One Nano-BAT, One Desert Scorpion, and One CGI perhaps?

He's a cool looking figure on the surface, but I was never a fan of Crimson or the Crimson Guards, so he doesn't hold any special place for me. I also disagree with making troop builders in the FSS for the obvious reasons. This should have been the Crimson Guard Commander; who was an individual, but I understand why he was included in the FSS. I also agree with some of the other posts that his colors are too bright and flamboyant, and ugh, there are those silver guns again. I would not want to be this guy operating in sniper territory. Or any territory that wasn't red and silver for that matter...

This was the figure I was most excited about. I'm not a fan of the silver weapons and sure, maybe I would have made the helmet shorter but overall I love this. This is a great, modernized representation of the Immortal. They're the Crimson Guard's heavy infantry, they don't want to be camouflaged, they're bad to the bone, they know it, and they flaunt it. That silver/grey vest and different helmet (as with the chest armor in the original) should strike fear into their enemies. Shock and awe! While I know many folks want near reproductions of older figures, I actually really enjoy some new takes on characters. I'm sure I am the minority but that's what I love to see, taking a character and modernizing it a bit while still paying homage to the original. I think they've done a great job of that here. I'm new to the club though and this is my first FSS, so maybe I'm not sure what the specific goals of FSS are. All I know, is that I love what I've seen so far.

Incorrect. The launchers were black. The missiles, themselves, were a gaudy yellow that did not appear with any other crimson guard figure ever.

This is the one I'm talking about. Apparently produced in India. http://www.yojoe.com/action/int/ind-cgimmortal.shtml
Either way, silver is better than both black or yellow because ceremonial appearance is such a huge part of the Crimson Guard.

unless you don't mind paying an extra $17 or so (this is based on previous waves prices) ad Buy just the one figure from the Club Store after the subscribers gets him and the extras are posted to the club store

It's a nice figure; but, I would've rather had the other rocket launcher, w/ attached machine gun and ammo belt, instead of the Flag. They should've saved the flag for when they remade the guards from the "imperial procession" set. Immortal, IMHO means, "can't be killed", so he better drop the flag and be armed to the teeth.

Wow! I'd like to army build this one. I've always loved ANY crimson guard and this figure is awesome. I always hoped for a "shadow guard" 25th style figure. Maybe down the road.
