So how did Icestorm get chosen as a con exclusive? I love the deco on the figure, but an arctic specialist doesn't seem to fit in with the overall theme. I figure there is some reason he is there though.

The updated figure design for Icestorm was included at the request of the Brand Team at Hasbro.

Interesting. I was definitely wondering the same thing. While I didn't really have an issue with a character like TJBang being included, Ice Storm did stand out quite a bit among the others. Odd that Hasbro would specifically request him of all characters. The figure is nice, but kind of a weird addition, I agree.

Oh! That was sweet! Often PARKAS come with three liners to add or subtract depending on the temperature... in this case added with the fact that OUTBACK has a toque it's quite obvious that it gets cold in a NECROPOLIS... not to mention dangerous!!

Yeah, it is strange that someone at Hasbro would care about something like this when they didn't even want to come to the convention. Oh well, seems like a neat figure (and one more reason for people to want a new USS Flagg).

Maybe Hasbro had some extra Ice Storms sitting around that needed getting rid of?

I agree with GeneralsJoes, it's a nice figure regardless.

As we mentioned during the Club panel, both the figure recipes for Zombie Hunter: Outback and Rescue Ops: Icestorm were from the Brand Team and based on their canceled Concept Vault designs.

This has been the trend for the figure 2-pack the last few cons...2012 had Darklon and Sergeant Major, 2013 had Chuckles and Freestyle, this year it was Clutch and Icestorm. Definitely would have never expected Icestorm in a zombie-themed set, but I'll take him. Fits well with the USS Flagg crew.

Maybe you should have done an Eco-Force Tomahawk for the con and paired him up with Lift-Ticket!

I wish the Hasbro Brand Team had been there to answer a lot of questions we have/had for them. Seems like they are lacking in testicular fortitude to face the collectors they work for. Without our purchasing power they likely would have been out of a job a long time ago. I am thankful that the GI JOE Collector's Club is able to do the things they do for us. Without them we would be finding a new hobby!

Thanks Club and keep up the good work!

Just my two bits.

I guess ...that maybe they felt LIFE LINE was busy...uhh cooking....and couldn't throw him in with a.......stretcher to keep his pacifist appeal to kids.....uhhh.....

The Icestorm figure was approved by Hasbro and offered as a convention souvenir.
