Is that his original webgear? That has to go, big time. It will make his arms flail out to much. Otherwise a decent offering

05-18-2017, 04:30 PM
I'll probably give him the black neck wrap that AVAC sells on his site, it will look closer to the original figure. Don't know about the webgear, but maybe it will fit better than the pic shows. I'll keep him.

the figure is 95% awesome:

i second the motion to replace that web gear. i'd replace it with either:

or b)

i'll also be replacing this head with a Dusty head, as the K-mart pit trooper / Brazil II Wet-Suit head just doesn't work for me on this character.

PS: Qwinn's belt is better than the perfect update though. kudos and bacon for that one.

3rd vote for dropping that vest. Way too big! The neckerchief will look much better on a web gear that extends higher, as well. The Kwinn belt also appears too big, as the moc up even shows it slipping way down.

05-18-2017, 05:11 PM
My first thought was "wow, that's a skinny waist". The belt is great, the vest looks too big. I know it's just a mock up and I really do think that once in hand, this will be a great figure. 4/4. Keep it coming

05-18-2017, 05:38 PM
Get rid of the vest. I like the figure? Do the sunglasses come off the Boonie Hat? Please tell me they are removable?

05-18-2017, 05:53 PM
AbernathyWasRight: those look like FSS Blackout's goggles.... the hat is also from Kmart pit trooper, and did NOT come with goggles. so my conclusion is YES! the goggles are removable!

i forgot how to mention in my above post how awesome i think that is

05-18-2017, 06:10 PM
Ok good, now I'm in on this guy. Thanks Baconnaire!

I also feel the Spy Troops vest on the 4" torso looks like a bra and would like to see it changed. I'd also like to see the baby-faced 25th Dusty head changed and feel the goggles on top of the boonie hat are too "surfer dude." Finally, are the browns used for the belt etc going to be close to the "FSS5 Scoop orange?" If so, I think that color should be avoided. The light brown used on the 2003 figure was lighter and less intense, more of a clay mud (not Georgia clay).

I really like the character choice, and the color scheme looks great! The mock up seems a little off, but I'm assuming that is just the mockup, and the actual figure and accessories will be more proportioned.

05-19-2017, 10:42 AM
Aside from the vest, it's a pretty decent figure.

05-19-2017, 10:43 AM
Unless I'm completely off the mark and/or barring certain circumstances, these mock ups are photos of the figures assembled in their intended gear and then painted over in Photoshop. This would all indicate the items in the mock up are proportioned to each other.

I'm okay with cutting that vest off and replacing it with something after-market, but the club listened to the Salvo complaints, and this is a much easier fix, so please Club, change the vest

05-19-2017, 04:58 PM
Just not feeling this one. That webgear doesn't work with that torso, and the figure could really use a vest to have any semblance to his old self. Possibly my least fave fig in all the FSS series.

05-19-2017, 07:17 PM
Crosshairs looks great

05-19-2017, 08:10 PM
"Crosshairs" does, yes.

05-20-2017, 08:05 AM
This is a must have for me. I like the figure pictured but, if you xo change the vest I would suggest 50th spirit or the fss muskrat vests

05-20-2017, 11:10 PM
My only problem with this figure is the webgear. Other than that, I love it.

05-21-2017, 01:16 AM
As many others, nice figure, but please find out another webgear. That's too big it looks like a man with cup E wonderbra!

05-21-2017, 07:13 AM
I agree with the comments. The vest needs to change. This one seems out of place. Different hat or different head is needed too. This is only a mock up, so hopefully the feedback we are providing will assist in the final rendition.

05-22-2017, 10:36 AM
I think the webgear could be better, but it could also be worse, so maybe if the club does decide to change it we can either vote on the replacement or get another preliminary mock up? All in all I love this figure, i've been hoping to see this one for a while, personally I was hoping for the night force color scheme because that's the one that I have but I don't mind the v1 colors either. Great work!

They have revised the figure preview image and replaced the webgear. You can see it if you log into the subscription page. This is a direct link to their image:

Looks much better now.

05-30-2017, 04:15 PM
I usually stay on the sidelines when it comes to things like this but I looked at the 2 mockups side by side and the new mockup definitely seemed like an improvement.

05-30-2017, 04:35 PM
I applaud the Club for fixing this disaster! Still think the belt will disappoint, but now I'm up to 50/50 on subbing where I was 10/90 just 24 hours ago...

05-30-2017, 06:07 PM
Great changes- really saved the figure, which was just a mess before.

05-30-2017, 07:34 PM
this updated cross hair is now a must have... the barrell-roll harness fits much better! and i prefer the new neck-scarf instead of the dickie (that's the "turtle neck" for all you youngins)

05-30-2017, 07:38 PM
Looks better with the changes. I like this FSS way better than #5
