For Salvo, we tried many different combinations rather than a straight up repaint. After reviewing some of your suggestions, we've selected another option to show you a new figure build before we have final feedback on tool availability.

So, keep your fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for making the revisions! It looks a lot better!! Great job Club!!! Maybe you could add a tan version of Scrap Irons rocket-launcher as well? Or would that be too much?

Love everything but the rocket launcher. Salvo=more than one.

If you find a reputable caster (AngelForge, RaginSpoon, Maurauder John) willing to make an update in the same colors used by the Club of the original weapons, I will send them the 5 rocket shoulder launcher, a missile, the mine thrower, and a mine to make casts for production.

Absolutely nailed it! That looks a million times better! Is that the Hit & Run head? The features look to sharp to be the 25th Serpentor.

THANK YOU Club!!! There's always a figure or two I'm "meh" about, but it's always something I can live with. Same with this FSS, but the one figure failing it's role SO badly really had me on the edge, even though it's a character I never cared too much about. Anyways, this is SUCH an improvement, looking forward to subscribing now - you'll have two sales on me!

okay, you can take my money now.

this is a much improved version. other than Darklon, i'm actually rather pleasantly surprised with this series of FSS. subbed. can't wait to find out who the mystery 13th is, now.

Thank you. This is far more consistent with what Fun Pub has shown they can accomplish than the original build. It is also appreciated that fan/customer reactions/responses have been taken into consideration. This proposed action figure construction is far more consistent with the character. Again, thank you.

I will not be purchasing this figure because I personally think the 1990 line for GI Joe ARAH was awful (although I do own all the originals from that year). That being said, I am really glad the club is updating Salvo for those who wanted a better representation of the character. I was very pleased with the Hit & Run update last year, so kudos to the club for listening to it's members again.

Salvo still shows as a question mark on the FSS server, but is shown as part of the line up on the Club's FB. Is this in anyway indicative of the status of approved tooling for the new model?

rjhiii@sover.net
08-30-2016, 07:28 AM
The Club presented the rebuild to Hasbro- Hasbro has to approve the new tools being used. Don't know if that happened or not yet.

NS550@aol.com
08-30-2016, 08:03 AM
I was about to ask when we will hear if the new Salvo will be the final version. I really hope there's no tooling issues or anything else preventing this from being the final, I think he looks perfect for what we've all asked for.

rjhiii@sover.net
08-30-2016, 10:24 AM
I think most of the Salvo fans would accept this even shipping really, really late to make this version happen. As for those nitpicking about the weapons- consider it Salvo V1 with Salvo V2 weapons-problem solved since this is probably going to be the only Salvo update made.

j_yoders@hotmail.com
08-30-2016, 10:58 AM
But how can "salvo" have a weapon that only shoots one projectile?

rjhiii@sover.net
08-30-2016, 12:40 PM
Easy- Hasbro released his second version that way DAVID "SALVO" HASLE (v2) (http://www.yojoe.com/action/05/salvo2.shtml)

huntersabin@yahoo.com
08-30-2016, 01:59 PM
Just imagine this single projectile as a cluster bomb upon arrival at desired target. Our military uses such ordinance all the time. One shot, multiple...

The FSS 5.0 subscription page now has a picture of the updated version of Salvo with his listing. I wonder if it's been approved.

That would be wonderful news for the Salvo fans...

Jyoders, what existing modern era weapon do you think they should use?

NS550@aol.com
08-31-2016, 07:25 AM
Someone suggested the backpack that metal head came with from the IG con set, that may make people happy. I for one don't mind about the weapon although I really liked his original launcher more because it was unique.

Rguthei1@twcny.rr.com
08-31-2016, 09:07 AM
Sygil, most of the vintage weapons were unique. These days it seems they are always packing in this weapon from this figure and oh let's grab this person's weapon as well, oh and this figures web gear. Not much Uniqueness these days. the Duke v43/MEtal Head backpack is perfect for Salvo though.

j_yoders@hotmail.com
08-31-2016, 10:10 AM
Yes, Duke v43/Metal Head backpack.

NS550@aol.com
08-31-2016, 02:40 PM
Yes there were a lot of unique weapons back in the vintage days, one of the things I really liked about that time period. The Duke/Metal Head weapons would be great but I'm happy to have the bigger build that we all asked for that I'm not going to complain about little things like the accessories, worst case I will find Duke or Metal Head and use their weapons for Salvo. I only ever had the DTC version of salvo and I was really sad that he didn't come with his original gear so it would be a huge bonus if the club found a way to include that backpack launcher with this figure.

spivster66@aol.com
08-31-2016, 04:26 PM
I was kinda okay with the original version, as I liked so many other figures in the 5.0 lineup and I was glad to see Salvo was going to be a part of it, but I agree with everyone else: this version is WAAAAAY better!! Fingers crossed, indeed, that everything works out and this is the figure we get!

Now I really, REALLY can't wait to get that first shipment!

jared.vitosh@gmail.com
08-31-2016, 04:36 PM
Ok, I get what you are saying about the Duke/Metalhead launcher, but I actually disagree. In my opinion the included launcher actually looks more like the original weapon. It's a big square launcher that he carries around on his shoulder (not attached to a backpack) and even though this only has 1 missile, it is based off a real world weapon that shoots 4 rockets, the M202 Flash.

NS550@aol.com
09-01-2016, 09:11 AM
I agree, it is closer to the original in how you would fire it, I think everyone's point is that the original concept of the character being named "Salvo" was that he should be launching multiple projectiles all at once. That is why people have suggested the backpack launcher as it does that job more than the one he's shown with here. I really would be fine with either but as far as the purpose of the character I think a launcher that actually carries more than one projectile would be more suited to that purpose.

jimsnow70@aol.com
09-02-2016, 04:01 PM
I have enough spare missiles to just mod the launcher. Going to cut the tip of 4, mount them together on a cut, single one and insert into the launcher. Granted it won't fly far, but I don't intend to shoot it and it will look far better on display.

jared.vitosh@gmail.com
09-02-2016, 07:08 PM
That's not a bad idea Hebime. I have plenty of old missiles I might try the same thing, but I'm not too worried either way. I don't know about anybody else, but my Salvo will never be firing any missiles at Cobra tanks. He is going to standing on a shelf, posed with a toy weapon that represents a multi-shot rocket launcher and that is good enough for me.

csi_kincaid@yahoo.com
09-02-2016, 07:28 PM
I couldn't agree more. So long as the updated bulkier version is truly the one we get, I don't care about the launcher.

arock1922@yahoo.com
09-04-2016, 02:47 PM
Hey club, any word yet on if this build has been approved?

NS550@aol.com
09-04-2016, 04:36 PM
Considering it was the picture that came up in the subscription site I am hoping it was, it would be pretty rotten of them to show it there and then ship us the original one...
